    Let’s not use AGI to mean artificial human-level intelligence. Human intelligence is more general than current AI but it remains very specialized and optimized for our own survival. If the human in this video has GI then what about the chimp?

    I believe a lot of people in the AI community would be ok saying it publicly. has no idea what he is talking about when he talks about AI. There is no such thing as AGI and we are nowhere near matching human intelligence.

    1. That there are many different types of problems and their solutions require different types of intelligence. 2. That human intelligence is not good at everything. Humans suck at many tasks, like playing go, chess, and poker, calculating integrals, reasoning logically.

    Good analogy from showing why AGI makes little sense. If a company claimed it could come up with a pill to cure all diseases, nobody would pay attention to them. So why take seriously claims that a program to solve all problems is within reach?

    Humans do suck at many tasks! Convincing them so is deceptively challenging. Also might be my new favorite.

    This isn't a surprise considering how much work is involved to just make the slightly better in each of specialized fields. This is akin to saying humans will get access to other galaxies in next 100 years. Maybe. Maybe Not. No clearly defined path ahead.

    The point is making is hard to argue with: By logical necessity, all intelligence is specific and partial. HLI is certainly specific and partial. There is no single capital I Intelligence that would capture all I intelligences.
