    In remembrance of John Proctor & remembering his family on the anniversary of this absolutely appalling & brutal action by the IRA. We talk much about what divides us and what unites us, we should all be united in revulsion of this

    in 1981 the IRA murdered John Proctor, 25. Married father of 2. Off duty RUCR shot in Magherafelt Hospital car park after visiting wife & new born son. Wife named the baby after her husband saying “He will always have someone to look up to”

    Yesterday I was grateful to have been able to join the President in Shanksville, PA to honor those who lost so much 17 years ago.

    Ladder Co 3 suffered some of the heaviest casualties on 9/11. My girlfriend lived on this block then, and I passed it often in the weeks after. These firefighters are out there every day for all of us. All of us. I’m so glad these are the heroes my son looks up to.

    By the way, this is NYPD PO Moira Smith. She rescued numerous people during the attacks on September 11th. This is a picture of her rescuing someone, after which she ran back into the South Tower & was killed when it collapsed. She was an amazing “girl cop.” 💙
