    6z GFS storm on 2/7 is the only believable snow setup for NC I’ve seen for Feb. Has a s/w over TX gulf phasing w/ NS energy, and HP to the NE w/CAD signal. TPV over Hudson Bay (this is east of Greenland for 1/1 “threat”) — more believable for NC...12z Euro will be the test

  2. Tuesday : • Unseasonably warm temps today. • Heavy rain predicted Wednesday and Thursday, increasing the threat for flash flooding. • Strong/severe Tstorms are expected to develop Thursday into Friday morning. Threats include gusty winds and possiblity of tornado.

    Peculiar features worth watching the next few days will be a potential secondary surface low that develops in the far western piedmont & backdoor cold front near VA border. Both will be additional source(s) of low-level shear & may (locally) ⬆️ the tornado threat.

    Thursday is the day to watch, The Storm Prediction Center has already issued a level 2/5 risk for Severe Weather. A vigorous storm system will impact the state Thursday, a key storm ingredient will be present shear

  10. There is a slight risk of severe storm Thursday and Thursday night, with damaging winds the main threat. Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches will be possible with this system, possibly resulting in flash flooding and river flooding across central NC. Stay tuned for updates.

    A strong storm system will bring heavy rainfall to central NC from Wednesday evening through Thursday night. A widespread 2 to 4 inches is possible across the area, which could bring flash flooding and potentially significant river flooding. Stay tuned for later updates.

    Woah day 6 Severe Weather outlook for parts of NC, if the models are correct, could be an exciting week. The low level jet will be streaming through the state Wednesday into Thursday night. Do any NC Mets know when the last time NC was in a day six outlook, April 2011?
