    I amended an area with sand (70% sand, 20% top soil) so I could plant some dry-adapted natives. I didn't really expect what a magnet to wasps, ants, and bees it would become!

    Last Saturday, my sixth bee nerd sense told me it was time to attempt searching for the first native bees of the season. The instinct didn't fail me, because I did spot the first Dialictus and Halictus of the year. [Oakland, CA 1-26-2020]

    Not entirely true and quite misleading. Communities need information about which bees are in danger of becoming endangered. need saving too.

    Aussie bees are the best. This blue banded bee (Amegilla) was looking for spot to burrow amongst the leaves in our front yard this morning. Firat non blurry photos of the summer.
