Third time lucky! Iceland Gull
@WWTLondon this lunchtime. Showed fantastically well from WWF Hide for no more than two minutes, then flew off! Thank goodness I use my P1000
as a scope! Lifer!
Surrey Lifer!
I was just a bit excited! @SurreyBirdNews@LondonBirdClub#londonbirds pic.twitter.com/FkN6cBxi50

Second dip on the Iceland Gull
@WWTLondon. Second consolation prize was this Bittern, showing very well by the sluice directly opposite WWF Hide on the southern edge of the Grazing Marsh, and therefore very close to the Peacock Tower.@SurreyBirdNews@LondonBirdClub#londonbirds pic.twitter.com/Ikil4g6por

This large 2nd-winter Caspian Gull was on the River Thames off Greenhaven Drive, Thamesmead yesterday - one of two present (with the other bird seen again today). A fairly distinctive bird with a lovely subterminal bill band glinting in the sunshine!

2nd-winter Caspian Gull at King Henry's Wharf, Woolwich at 1.20pm today. It was sitting on the Thames off Princess Alice Way, Thamesmead at 1.03pm when
@dantshep and I left it, so 17 minutes to do 1.75 miles into a headwind shows again how mobile London's gulls are!#londonbirds pic.twitter.com/hBUMzJUItC

A fantastic trip to
@WWTLondon yesterday, to celebrate@ArjunDutta228 's birthday. Wonderful to catch up with friends, and the highlight was an Iceland Gull!#londonbirds pic.twitter.com/t96C4YPpiz

After some brief, sheltered views, it took some tracking down in the cold southerly wind, but in the end the unseasonal Ilford Turtle Dove showed well, albeit a little too distant for decent photos. A joy regardless!

2nd-winter Caspian Gull on the River Thames off Greenhaven Drive, Thamesmead this a'noon. One of two of this age present in some fairly moody light and choppy conditions today - pretty small P10 mirrors but they are present!

Missed the Iceland Gull
@WWTLondon by about 5 mins. Still, the consolation prize wasn't that bad! This Peregrine used the bund right in front of the Peacock Tower as a base for a couple of (unsuccessful) attacks: thrilling to watch!@SurreyBirdNews@LondonBirdClub#londonbirds pic.twitter.com/gQJ2LS2sbw

1st-winter Caspian Gull from Greenhaven Drive, Thamesmead on Sunday. This was a new individual into London last weekend, with extensive covert moult and a pretty 'classic' feel, and was seen again by
@jrmjones at Rainham Marshes today.#londonbirds pic.twitter.com/SEKRsCo7Vw
