Must continue marking. Must continue marking. Must continue marking. Must. Not. Procrastinate. Ohh look, those Ferrero Rocher need organising... Next: Well-deserved cup of tea. Then: Jot down 50 ways I'd have defeated Michael Myers from the Halloween movies...

Taught a group of students this evening that were my first teaching group when I started. Such a talented bunch of writers, writing imaginative poetry, but also so kind to me when I was just starting out...made me happy to see them all again!

Turning off the internet and 'forgetting' my mobile in another room results in a productive morning of writing. Paper done! Let the celebratory dancing commence (before moving onto the next item on the agenda).

I had written "In Marking Hell" on the whiteboard outside my door. Someone has changed it to "I'm Marking Well"... you gotta love
@otago for positive motivational graffiti

Transferring all my writing from notebooks and paper into typed up document for supervisor: 1) I'm amazed how many poem drafts and ideas I've had in the last year 2) Why didn't I just type them in the first place?! Time saving idea (but I love my notebooks)

An interesting read - is slow academia ever an option? I like to think of it as a treadmill - changeable speed but it always feels like it's incrementally speeding up the further I go in my career
