    1. Elle explique que la laïcité a connu une “transformation” dans les années 80. La vérité est toute autre : la laïcité n’a pas été transformée, elle a dû répondre à de nouvelles problématiques posées à cette époque. On pense ainsi à "l’affaire des foulards" de Creil en 1989.

    It’s odd, as an atheist, knowing so many decent Christians, all Roman Catholics, here in a state proud of its ; people who do so much good for others. Almost as a matter of routine. I feel a fondness to them. And a defensiveness. Some are good friends.
