    Today’s forecast summed up in two pictures taken at the same time. To the north: partly cloudy skies. To the south: an isolated thunderstorm. Not everyone will see rain, but those who do can see some brief heavy rain, some lightning and gusty winds.

    Mostly sunny skies return for most of Central Texas today. An isolated shower or strong storm is possible later in the afternoon with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats. Highs will be nice and warm around 90 degrees.

    We've seen a few showers and isolated storms develop over the past couple hours. Expect these to continue to develop and even expand in coverage over the next few hours. All activity should be sub-severe, but some downpours could put down a quick 1/2" to 1"+ of rain.

    Nearly drought free across ALL of Central Texas with the latest update this morning! And the best news? Rain is falling this morning in areas that are still "Abnormally Dry", in portions of Mason and Gillespie counties.

    Heavy rain from earlier this afternoon is beginning to weaken, and we've mostly got light to moderate rain falling now. Expect this weakening trend to continue for the rest of the afternoon before most activity comes to an end tonight.

    Downpours and storms, especially in Travis County, will be slow to move northwest as we head through mid-evening. Localized street flooding is a possibility with rainfall rates of 1-3 inches per hour.
