🎉LETS BUILD STUDENT POWER🎉 At some Kansas Universities, 60% of students didn't vote in recent elections even though they were registered! Why? Polling places weren't accessible. There's a simple solution: put a polling place on every college campus in Kansas. 1/2

Background is doodle fists printed over each other to make a pattern. In rainbow text, it reads: Loud Light Announcing- student power campus campaign. Fall fellowship 2021 with an arrow to swipe to see the next picture.
Red background with white circle, text reads: from 2016 to 2020, youth voter turnout increased 14% in Kansas. In the 2020 election, young people proved their power to transform our nation by turning out to vote at record high levels. There's a black and white circle near the text that shows two people sitting at a loud light voter registration table wearing hats that say "vote" on them.
Orange background with white circle, text reads: At some Kansas schools, 60% of students didn't vote even though they were registered. There's a black and white circle near the text that shows a young woman holding up a clipboard that says "register to vote! k s votes dot org" she is surrounded by crowd that she is speaking to.
Yellow background with white circle, text reads: Why? A lack of accessible polling places. When Kansas students were surveyed on why they did not vote in the last election, half cited a lack of accessible polling locations as the main reason and one third cited transportation as the only reason. There's a black and white circle near the text that shows two young people holding a banner that reads "loud Light" under a large picture of the mascot of Pittsburg University- a yelling gorilla.

The Kansas Legislative Redistricting Committee has released their Listening Tour schedule. Holding them all in one week, during many people’s work hours, and in a rushed manner doesn’t allow for maximum citizen input.

After Kansas officials debated yesterday whether to exclude hospitals with vaccine mandates from a program to provide nurses with extra pay, Biden basically settles the matter for them. I can't imagine many facilities risking their Medicare status.

There was a full house at the JoCo redistricting town hall today! My favorite quote from testimony was: “Politicians don’t choose their voters. Voters choose their politicians,” and I couldn’t agree more. Kansans deserve a fair, non-partisan, and transparent process.
