    Twelve new moons of Jupiter and one, Valetudo, is an odd one! It moves the wrong way around the planet compared to its neighbours. This extends Jupiter's lead on its nearest competitor, 79 moons to Saturn's 62!

  14. Long before the new discovery, were on the hunt for Jovian moons. In 1908, P. J. Melotte discovered Pasiphaë (Jupiter-VIII) from Greenwich.
