    Great, concise thoughts on the difference between consistency for the sake of design vs for the user. "When you think about consistency, you’re thinking about the product. When you’re thinking about current knowledge, you’re thinking about the user."

    The problem with thinking in terms of consistency is that those thoughts focus purely on the design and the user can get lost.

    So sad. To me, obviously, this was an important slice of our teaching history, which led to our web standards book and the foundation of . I’ve paid for the domain for years to keep it alive for posterity and reference. 😢 /cc

    Thank you, George! That is such a lovely comment. It was hard writing that book – lots of evenings and weekends – but we were so, so happy with it when it was published. We used it for years as the backbone of our curriculum. Again: Thank you! 🤗

    Delighted to have found out yesterday that I have been awarded a first class honours in Interaction Design! I want to give a big thanks to the lecturers at for creating a course that is up to date, exciting to study, and flexible enough to support many career paths.

    Had a fun impromptu evening down at the University of Ulster last night to check out the graduates show. Great talent was on display! Good luck to all of them as they begin their careers. We were in the same boat 11 years ago.
