    Which benefit did you get from running Linux on it? At least has zones, ZFS, DTrace, FMA, COMSTAR... you could actually run a real UNIX®️ server and get some useful work out of that hardware.

    Linking with libc in Solaris and illumos has always been a safe bet thanks to versioned interfaces and backwards-compatibility guarantee. If you want a stable, well engineered platform for your software, -based systems such as are it.
