    I changed mine last year (30 years R). I never voted solely by party (did not vote for Trump), but after all the GOP has become over the last few years I no longer could stomach being associated with them.

    My godfather was a Republican U.S. Senator, my father was the ED for South Dakota, my mother was appointed to the state Board of Ed by two governors, I worked for a president, representative, and state delegate. I am now an Independent.

    Welcome! I was GOP for 35 years. Voted HRC in ‘16. Went Independent in Jan ‘17. Then switched to Dem in 9/18 during Lindsey Graham’s hissy fit at Kavanaugh hearing.

    after 40 years registered GOP in July 2016 when tRump became the nominee. I voted straight blue and will continue to do so.

  8. It’s been a long time coming. I ducked out briefly in 2008-2012 and this time I really needed to exit. This has been devastating to me as a citizen. I can’t be part of this. It’s not the GOP I grew up in. It’s Trump’s party. I just can’t!!

  10. Talking to two Catholic Republicans yesterday: We talked a lot about taking care of the poor. Then he tried to pay a $50 tab without tipping. His buddy wouldn't take my card because "I don't shit where I eat." He walked out on a $17 tab. This is why .

  13. Today I called our local courthouse and told them I would no longer serve as a election judge. I can not support a party that glorifies any longer.

  15. I grew up GOP. I worked for two GOP members of Congress. I was a (minor) appointee in the W Administration. I was a GOP primary voter through 2016. Never again. I'll be voting for all the Democrats this fall and for the foreseeable future.

  16. Today . I was there because it was supposed to be a Big Tent. But it's not & I don't belong there because I want, need, & demand a better tent. and it was hard because all this time I had faith it could be better. It's sad because I no longer have faith.
