    Day 30 how can you help? Locally, naturalize your yard and support bylaws that default to that. But the world issue is to reduce your footprint as best you can and fight for fair elections first because voting without representation will end with more of the same.

  9. My fave piece of lab equipment is definitely the dissecting . It shows the cool structures key to identifying and on reefs! 1) juv Mercenaria (quahog), 2) Code goby caudal fin scale, 3) 3rd maxilliped of mud crab E. depressus day 19!

    Day 17 (a day late): Favorite Field Site: My favorite restoration is Unit J at Kankakee Sands. One of the best restorations I've ever seen - tons of Sporobolus heterolepis and Eryngium yuccifolium!

    Day 17: Favourite field site Who knew working in mine reclamation could be so beautiful? This is one of my favourite sites - especially because they have a successful lupine trial plot!

  14. Day 13 . Today, I had the chance to visit one of my favourite ecosystem that I hadn’t seen for a long time: a bog. to who taught me how to ecologically restore peatlands.

    How I got involved restoration: I think I got yelled at my 1st yr in college for jumping on dropseed hummocks at a volunteer workday. Then the depth of expertise & drive of profs like Stephen Packard, Joe Walsh, and Pat Herendeen led me down this path!

    This is , a tiny wetland I am restoring on our land. 5 years ago this was all lawn. Now it’s got several fen-affinity plants (pH 7.4! High conductivity!) and birds and sometimes even amphibians use it!

    How Collaboratively! I've never ever been a part of restoration alone. I focus on restoring physical processes, while others take care of the other gazillion details. It takes a village to raise an ecosystem!
