#HurricaneIrma hit#Barbuda 3 years ago yesterday & the island is still struggling to recover & to define its future for its people. Watch http://watch.redfitz.com/hurricane . Read my essay https://tinyurl.com/y44vco23 . Learn how this small place reveals big issues of climate justice & governance -
We sat here on the mainland and watched people in Puerto Rico and the USVI die after
#HurricaneIrma and#HurricaneMaria Now we watch people on the island with no power and no safe indoor spaces. Please help.https://www.hispanicfederationunidos.org/donate-now-earthquake-emergency … -

If Maria & Irma hit the mainland, slow moving hurricane aid would not be an issue. This is the Trump administration getting things done. Trump obviously enjoys withholding funds.

3 years ago lives where changed drastically. Never thought I would see or experience something like this. 6 months no power and living with the sound of generators. The ptsd for some is still real and long lasting.

It has been 2 years since
#HurricaneMaria and#HurricaneIrma devastated Puerto Rico and the much needed HUD recovery aid is still delayed. This delay is unacceptable. The lives of Puerto Ricans cannot be treated with such disregard.#ReleaseTheAidhttps://buff.ly/2DUqHke -
Take 5 minutes of silence for the lives lost on this day and the lives changed on this day in 2017. May we be so blessed moving forward.

Three years ago we woke up to this scene. 90 days without power followed. But it only made us love our island and its people even more. We hope to have our book about the experience, "Galvanized", published soon.

We all know where we were 3 years ago today. Irma brought devastating winds and storm surge to the Florida Keys, especially from Cudjoe Key to Big Pine Key. Some of the scars are still visible, but we've persevered and come out stronger!

Held hostage? Is that worse than being a senior in a nursing home dying of heat and having pleas for help from you ignored and then deleting the voicemails after 11 died? Rick Scott is the despicable face of the Republican party.

#HurricaneIrma swept through the Florida Keys and destroyed Fishermen’s Community Hospital, and today we’re placing the final beam. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and vision of the community, we will continue our commitment to our Keys community.#BaptistHealthFoundationpic.twitter.com/HsxGewNhMz -
