    So freaking sad and unnecessary!

    Dustin Wakefield was shot and killed in front of his wife and 1-year-old son while eating at a Miami cafe yesterday, but you probably didn’t hear about it because it’s the sort of thing that happens in America every single day. It’s long past time we did something about that.

    There is no way to unpack all the trauma in this tweet. My heart goes out to all the teachers who have to weigh all of this on top of educating our kids.

    Yesterday at active shooter training, we were told that if there was a shooting at our school, we could use our masks from the pandemic to stuff the bullet wounds of the children.

    This can NOT become passively “whatever”.

    How is this not a national media story? A 19-year-old who took his grandfather’s unsecured guns and almost carried out a mass shooting at his high school school three years ago was able to get more guns and opened fire on Michigan beachgoers this weekend.

    My 7yo to my 5yo: you’re gonna love kindergarten. My first day I learned how to hide in bathrooms & closets from bad guys. When you get stuck in the bathroom you put your feet up on the toilet so they don’t know you’re there. Happy 1st Day 🤦🏻‍♀️

    They came for the children by selling the idea that more guns would make us safer. And the brave stood up and said, “NO!”

    This Sunday at 9pm, will show The Price Of Freedom followed by a discussion with about the gun lobby and gun violence. I am honored to be able to share my story and hope Americans tune in Sunday night.

    My heart is broken.

    A 15-year-old was arrested after shooting and wounding a student at a Wilmington, North Carolina, high school today, which forced a lockdown of the school and evacuation of students. No reporting on how the child accessed a loaded gun.

    Costco is selling bulletproof backpacks for kids — we’re officially failing our children. Having a child carry a bulletproof vest to 1st grade makes more sense to some folks than passing common sense gun laws like background checks on all gun sales & secure storage.🙄 I can’t.

    In 2020 Erin O’Toole told gun lobbyists he’d repeal the Firearms Act and reclassify weapons using input from the gun industry, gun owners and police. He did not say he would consult victims or experts in gender violence, gangs, suicide, and public health

    Bragged about his plan. Erin deflected by attacking Accused the PM of using gun control to divide and mislead Canadians. Did not say why he will reverse the ban. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    My first instinct is to ask, "What happened to this country?," but I also kinda wanna know what happened at this Starbucks! I mean, I've argued with someone about the last muffin before, but I never thought it was gonna escalate into some sort of Old West gunfight.
