    Completed cedar smudge sticks. They are currently hanging to dry and will be used for our class smudges when they are ready.

  8. Day 1 of year 4 week today. Students all over Scotland for 3 days community pharmacy, 1 day hospital pharmacy & 1 day primary care. Thanks to all our facilitators.

  9. In honor of the Super Bowl, third-grade students created scaled football fields to learn more about units of measurement.

  10. Students stopped for lunch before examining the different layers of rock along the gorge of the Kaministiquia River. Students examined the different types of rocks in the gorge and colour variations as well.

  11. Students hiked the Mountain Portage Trail at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park and learned the historical importance of this route for the region. Students loved following in the footsteps of the Ojibwe people, voyageurs and fur traders who used the route.

  12. Students exploring Hazelwood Lake Conservation Area. Students observed different animal tracks and spotted a couple different chaga growths high up in the birch trees.

  13. Students testing out their shelters that they built back in October. 3/4 withstood the heavy snowfall over Christmas Vacation. Students were surprised that they could stay warm in snow covered shelters and hypothesized a list of reasons why.

    Students braved the -30 weather to visit 25th Side Road Tree Farm. Students were tasked to identify the different species of trees/plants that they could find & decide if that species of tree/plant was "actively growing" or "dormant" during the winter.
