    Someone asked me via a DM if I _really_ consider open source more stable than proprietary. They are missing the point. A large, diverse, invested community spread around the world is more stable than a handful of coders and salesmen in an office.

    It's nice with open source that we have options where we don't have to wonder who will own our ILS tomorrow.

  11. Q3: Be brave! (I can only really speak to but we're pretty friendly). Be welcoming to new contributors. Assume the best of others. Be willing to learn from each other. (I guess that's 4 tips but all variations on the same theme)

  12. Q1: Positive - I've worked with a lot of great & dedicated people over the years. Overall a great group. Negative/mixed - it's a relatively small community, and a lot of community work falls on the same people (and thank goodness for those people).
