    Whilst watching the avocets, curlews, etc at Kingsmill Lake (Tamar Estuary) this afternoon, we were also lucky enough to spot four (probable) cattle egrets in a field on the opposite shore!

    Finally caught up with the Buff-bellied Pipit at Sennen, Cornwall. With 20 mipits around puddles and manure heap beyond far end (to SE) of left-hand maize field.

    Back from a lovely few days with the family in Cornwall. Managed to see 90 different spp finishing with the Willow Tits at Lower Tamar Lakes - a species I’ve not seen since I used to encounter them on my local patch in Herts (late 80s?).

    Found the 9 BN Grebes at Restronguet Weir & single Slav Grebe. Then joined by another 3 BN Grebes from down river so 12 BN Grebes in the end! Also 1 m RB Merganser.

    Marsh Harrier & Barn Owl at dusk at Windmill Farm on the Lizard this evening. Also a Water Rail at the pond by the tower.

    A great few days in with the family. Deserted beaches, quaint fishing harbours and cliff walks. Managed to do bits of birding; Cornish choughs, Ravens, RTDs, Auks and all the other stuff. Never seen so many Firecrest (5 at least seen) in 1 woodland

    Paddyfield Pipit confirmed then! So now all we need to know is how it got there!
