  10. Today is Hedgehog day! These beautiful little creatures are some of our favourites at the centre! Unfortunately, their population has declined rapidly since the 1930s, and their current population is estimated to be less than 1Million! – at British Wildlife Centre

    are typically thought of as solitary birds, but last week on Chalky we found two males (Hurihuri and Kanawera: adult & juvenile) roosting in the same tree - virtually on the same branch. Two kākāpō in this field of view!
