    I may be researching barbastelles, but these are the first ones I saw in the hand! A great week of trapping, tagging, and radiotracking bats with Wiltshire Bat Group! 🦇

    I met a bat on Heuksan-Island while I was birdwatching. At first, I thought it was a moth. If I had a bat ultrasound detector, I might have identified it, but I don't know what it is. But even if I try to buy it, it's hard to buy because it's expensive.

    First time out catching bats in the UK the other night. No Barbastelles unfortunately, but we did get a few others including this Whiskered bat!

  7. Did you know that bats have long thin muscles embedded in their wings? Our founder El worked with Jorn Cheney & the Swartz Lab to illustrate these muscles & their variation amongst bat families.

    Did you hear something? This sure did. Meet Plecotus austriacus, the grey long-eared bat! Their calls are so quiet that can’t hear them, but thankfully these gigantic work extraordinarily well.
