    It’s children’s mental health week so I thought I’d post this.

  2. Today's marks the beginning of ! Children like everyone else can get depressed, sad, anxious you name it & they might not understand the feelings they're going though! Check up on the children in your family to make sure they're okay!

  4. Create and support inclusive environments that hold space for ALL children as they are, not as they are expected to be. If a child tells you that they're trans, listen to them, ask them what they need from you as an adult. Support them.

    Children suffer with their mental health just as much as adults, it is so important that we have things in place to support them in their time of need! You would provide support to a child with a cut knee... so why not to a child with anxiety?

    How about dropping the term ‘mental health’ for ? Loneliness, misery, fear, hopelessness.... translating understandable feelings into ‘MH problems’ obscures the very real pressures our kids are under and prevents us tackling the root causes of distress.

    I’ve learned so much since starting in a service 5 years ago about the importance of very early relationships and supporting families. Thanks to everyone who has been a teacher, let’s continue to spread the word.

  13. I was badly bullied in high school because I was the nerdy good kid that was never in trouble I had no friends & school did nothing so my mental health wasn’t great I decided to volunteer for a mental health charity so that no teenager feels like I did

    Our survey of UK parents revealed... 😻74% believed their cat helped to cheer up their child. 😻67% thought that their cat had a calming effect on their child. Is your child's mental health improved by the presence of a feline friend?
