    Blue skies above the marine layer 👀 Underneath is a different story. The coastal basin has been overcast all day due to a deep marine layer thanks to a trough passing by to the north. Enjoy these kind of days because summer is just around the corner.

    6.1" (15.5 cm) of new brings our season total to 396" (1006 cm), which is 110% of average! That includes 54" (138 cm) that fell in Oct and Nov and melted shortly afterward. Our snowpack is still set to leave early but only by a few days now!

    Occasionally heavy snowfall rates over the last 24 hrs have given us 4.1" (10.5 cm) of new at the 8 am measurement. We're expecting more snow over the next few days with this late season storms and we couldn't be happier about it! 🎥 Yesterday afternoon

    Sierra Nevada snowpack on April 7 versus April 23. The statewide snowpack has improved dramatically but is still only a pitiful 35% of normal.

    So far, 2022 has been the driest year on record in California. This will likely have dire consequences for fire season this summer and fall, as well as for water resources and drought concerns.

    Sacramento Executive & Sacramento International Airports both hit 100° yesterday for the first time this year. While this isn't the earliest Sacramento has reached 100°, it is earlier than normal. Other locations will have chances to reach their first 100° early next week.

    When do we normally reach 100° for the first time? Redding AP: June 4th, Stockton: June 11th, Modesto: June 13th, and Sacramento: June 12th
