Reading the tag is embarrassing and shameful because of how often I was willing to overlook glaring flaws in the name of civility and *potential* opportunity. CAH (the game) sucks. It feels bad to play and it is nakedly indulgent of privilege and violence.

I know it'll likely ruin my shot at gainful employment in the future, and that I'll regret doing this for a long time. But, fuck it. Yeah, boy, I've got some stories to tell about .

i have a lot of thoughts about the tweets but it's 3:20 am and my thoughts are too jumbled up right now for any coherency, but as someone who contracted with them for 11 months, I can very easily echo a lot of the statements already made. Bottom line, Theyre all true

  9. If you've ever played a game of Cards Against Humanity you are required to spend some time reading every single thing on this hell site tagged and then immediately go donate to the Black advocacy org of your choice. I don't make the rules.

Nothing says “we’re committed to meaningful change” like releasing a lengthy, lawyered up statement that clearly had no employee input two weeks later at midnight.

In case it wasn’t abundantly clear already, fuck Max Temkin, fuck Cards Against Humanity, and fuck the whole company. This is infuriating.

Cards Against Humanity's Max Temkin holds a lot of power in Chicago's creative circles. Years after a rape allegation was brushed aside, former employees and associates have come forward to reveal an abusive work culture, esp. for women and POC.

Today's been a "man the games industry sucks" sort of bad brain day for me, which happens often, but I don't much talk about. I just wanted to say how proud I am of everyone telling their first hand experiences with Cards in the tag

Remember, if you're avoiding Max Temkin related things, don't go to the Chicago Board Game Cafe. He owns or co-owns it.

  20. A more detailed article from the Black writer for Cards Against Humanity who pushed for them to make their games more inclusive, so they put him in a mental hospital for a week. It's a stunning read.
