    FACT: Black businesses in Atlanta were receiving .0012% of all city contracts. When Maynard Jackson became mayor in 1973, he made it clear that was unacceptable. He changed the game, which changed the South.

    really undoes the notion that Black people are inherently unable to create businesses or don't have a business sense. It makes it clear that there has been a concerted effort to suppress Black wealth, Black businesses, and Black entrepreneurs.
