I’ve not had a chance to read your book (l look fwd to it), but am curious how it considers language & terminology used for non-indigenous species. ie most introduced spp. aren’t invasive. Myers & Bazely (me) 2003 discussed the problematic nature of terms like ‘alien’.

it is interesting to learn that only 3% of the water in the world is fresh water.

Ecological footprint and biocapacity analysis is a way to determine the amount of resources we are consuming and compare it to what the Earth is regenerating

Super excited to hear Chaya Kapoor lecture talk today on ecological footprint and it's connection to biodiversity and ecological services!!!!!

Can we discuss how much fuel and other resources were wasted. And how much excess pollution released into our atmosphere because one man wanted to play a joke for laughs. I'm definitely not laughing.

Plant fact Monday! did you know that the plant Nepenthes ampullaria is an omnivore consuming decomposing plants and animals, it seems like animals aren't the only ones that can be cannibals!

Had an amazing time learning about prairie restoration from heavy agricultural impact in Albert. Being a Calgarian I can definitely relate to some of the issues that
@phylojenie brought up. I’m happy to know that we’re finally taking an action and making a change#biol4095 -
Overall, native grasslands support a large number of species and are largely fragmented due to agriculture, energy use, urban expansion - HOWEVER this also allows for the expansion of indigenous invasive species

Very educational lecture by
@phylojenie on prairie grasslands, its history and the effects of unchecked habitat fragmentation from the pioneering years. The rough fescue restoration project was very interesting and hopefully the project is successful in its objectives#biol4095 -
Interesting to learn about the history of the Prairies in Alberta and its rich biodiversity, unfortunate that it is very fragmented due to agriculture

Sustainable agriculture is farming in a way such that there are resources remaining for future generations

Best plant story I’ve heard hands down!

Loved learning about Varsha’s experiences farming in Suriname
during her presentation on #SustainableAgriculture
In order to meet our own needs & avoid jeopardizing future generations, sustainable development must consider ethics, economics AND the environment #BIOL4095 -
Refreshed some of my Dutch today in
