    An idea for . Why not creating a new service for importing citations online from a bibliographic database, without providing them in a bibliographic file like .bib? The same way packages are imported.

    When you pick a citation manager you should *definitely* pick or (or a manager if you want to be a nerd); costs 💰💰💰, and might not be available if you move institutions or to a nonacademic job. I prefer because its open source

    Finally got my office PC and Mac laptop to play nice with and Dropbox. wouldn’t compile. Fixed it by switching to TeXstudio, though I still prefer TexMaker. Also, Endnote was an excellent ref manager with Word docs and now I learned it’ll export to Bibtex, too!

    I wish this was the standard, at least for larger papers/pdfs. Quickly check a reference, and with one click you are back where you left.

    A better control of files is our main goal: We have Bibtex as our internal data format. We just write out modified entries and keep the bib unmodified in other cases.
