    Finally after months of waiting for a clear evening to look at the dimming . Still not easy to get these. Hand held camera phone, streetlights, intermittent cloud, boiler venting across view, trees... Much better than I thought I'd get.

    Had a quick walk around the boarding house to see if had gone supernova. Was shocked by what I saw.

    Mr H is about to teach the Cosmology/Astrophysics option to the U6th - would be so happy to have a supernova this year! SN1987A was a long time ago, in a galaxy very, very near. in its last death throes? Maybe. Maybe not.
