    Child just told me they drove past Victoria protest today. Facing the car was someone holding a sign saying “masks are child abuse” so my child put on their mask and waved. We’re doing a fine job parenting.

    Today, govt announced they will reverse 20 years of privatization by bringing back in-house hospital cleaners & dietary workers. This will improve wages & working conditions for more than 4000 workers, most of them women & many of them racialized. 1/6

    It’s time for Doctors to speak up. You have a Constitutional right to criticize govt. You have fiduciary responsibility to your employer but you can criticize other Health authorities that don’t employ you. Or go anonymous. SPEAK UP! Leaving it to teachers is cowardly.

    From press conference today. "But we also have to deal with the pandemic - that's not where we wanted to be right now." Neither did we Dr. Henry. ⬆️ trajectory, more contact tracers recalled, health services stretched. So no talk of endemic this time. Pandemic it is.

    No one gets to claim speaking for large part of society w/out evidence. Who was asked? As a dad of toddler who got covid at daycare, exposure notice helped us take precautions (masking) & end contact w/ vulnerable family members. Ppl need this info to protect themselves.

    BC will not be doing notifications in schools for single cases of , Dr. Henry says. She says many people said the school-based letters were more anxiety-provoking than helpful, but people will still be informed and clusters/outbreaks will be reported.
