I think Grant Woods or Ruben Gallego would be great Senate candidates in 2020. Woods would easily attract a few moderate Republicans and tons of former McCain voters, and Gallego would do really well in Maricopa County, which was key to Sinema's victory.

On this day in 1973, Sen. Barry Goldwater announced at his Paradise Valley home that he would seek re-election in 1974. He said he hoped his "good friend" Rep. Mo Udall would stay in the House and not challenge him. Goldwater also said Nixon should resign if impeached.

Your lack of logic is mind-boggling. barely lost to Sinema. Her win over Ward & Arpaio in the Primary was enormous. Once voters realize they were fooled by Sinema's fake personality & see how hard-working McSally is, she may be hard to beat in 2020.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. On the Dem side Grant Woods (former Republican) clearly represents John McCain’s legacy the most. If McSally has any chance, she will need to move back to the center right and convince Arizona Republicans of the same.

The fact that Martha Mcsally didn’t use Sen. John McCain’s name when she was with Pres Trump signing a bill after him, nor even acknowledged McCain kinda bothers me that she is now being appointed his seat. Really wish would of voiced her opinion on this.

The Democratic field for the special election in 2020 might clear if Dems land a candidate they have coveted for years: Mark Kelly, the former astronaut and Navy veteran married to Gabby Giffords. Dream bio. But untested running for office.

Don’t get me wrong - I think is a good guy - and he certainly is preferable to the GOP...but can we stop the hero worship of a guy who just recently became a Democrat and allow a primary campaign to start before we start anointing our 2020 Dem nominee? Please?

  19. When daddy Trump isn’t around has no problem praising McCain. Too bad she’s already lying as we know when it comes down to it she will side w Trump above all.

Take from this interview: either is running on a platform of his campaign being a McCain-like service to a country on the brink, or he's (along with Sinema) gonna have quite the weighty endorsement in the Arizona Senate Dem Primary. We'll soon learn which.
