    Yes! I have lessons on Afrolatinos that use videos and two lessons on Cuba! I need to do more with Puerto Rico, though.

    I made a Pinterest board of Spanish picture books to use in teaching. I am not a Spanish teacher and this list is missing diversity of countries of origin. Anyone have some to add?

    Contrary to what some believe, when I advocate for more and within world languages, I am not saying White people don't have a place. What I am saying is that voices that have been traditionally marginalized in our classrooms deserve to tell their own stories.

    Thats a great analogy! I think it highlights another reason for us to use and in our classes. As points out, it’s one way for us to discern whether or not the community wants those stories available to all.
