  3. In 10 hours 15mins 22 seconds, the Mobile Asteroid Surface Scout 🛰lander will reach the surface of the ancient asteroid 🌑280 million km from Earth, joining its two companions Minerva-II1 & 2 (landing site in blue). Good luck all!!

  11. Incredibly, there are now three tiny landers hopping across the surface of a boulder-strewn rock, 100s of millions of km from home🛰🌑. Landing 1 was amazing. 2? Quite remarkable. But 3?! A real feat for humanity. We can't wait to see what they discover 👣

    The MASCOT lander peeped out its camera and saw asteroid Ryugu from about 15 meters (50 feet) above the surface.

    Shortly before touchdown, MASCOT and its Hayabusa2 probe got these contrasting views of the rubble-strewn asteroid. You can see MASCOT's shadow at bottom left in its close-up shot. (3/4)
