    Folks with already know this but for those who don't: u have to wrestle with it every single day. Every time I get out of the house, go to work, meet with my students, teach my classes feels like a small victory. Then I get up the following day and do it all over again.

    Brain at 2am: remember that time the lady in the charity shop said she had cold hands and then kept holding her hand out towards you and you HELD HER HAND 3 different times, commenting on the cold but she was actually just trying to take your card to pay for the jumper

    A concept that helped me better understand recovery: The goal of anxiety is fight or flight. To run or to resist. When we do either of these things, we reward our body for protecting us. By doing the opposite we gradually convince these systems we aren't in danger.

    Sorry guys, just need to detach from music for a bit. Anxiety is making it too hard and i just can’t focus. I’ve written and scrapped two songs in two weeks and it’s just messing with me how much I’m hating everything and worrying. I love you guys and will be back soon x

    is not an excuse to not do things. is not an excuse to not to things. People with depression and anxiety want to do things but genuinely can’t when their symptoms are bad. It’s not okay to just say people are using them as an excuse.
