#AncestryHour Folks, want to ask your opinion about my local#Genealogy club's concern that people are attending talks for entertainment (!) more than for education. I have no problem with that--hook them and then gradually get them to consider doing research. Your thoughts? -
I'll be joining
#ancestryhour from a different time zone on Tuesday! Need to set my alarm so I'm all set.#Genealogypic.twitter.com/gd5ZeBdo1Q

Then I breathed in any fear or hostility that might be stirred up in others by the sight of the flag. Then I breathed in fear and breathed out compassion for all who feel compelled to armor themselves with the American flag.

Good evening
#AncestryHour! I've been working on some fun New Netherland cases for clients this past week. And making a research plan for research in Belgium for my Eleanor of Aquitaine-project. -
#AncestryHour I finally managed to confirm that the mothers name on the transcript of a baptismal record I had was incorrectly transcribed, as the church sent me images of the records. So nice to be able to finally confirm the parentage. -

Had a smile to myself on happening upon the wonderful surname SQUELCH whilst searching Old Windsor parish registers last week
Nothing to do with my research, but always nice to find further amusement along the way... #AncestryHour -
#ancestryhour can anyone identify this car at all? I'd love to be able to find a pic of it. If it helps.. the chap in the pic is my 2x gt Grandfather and he died in 1927.#classiccar#carenthusiasts#vintagecarspic.twitter.com/7Bb1YiYKVw

Riddle me this (please)... Here's a 1681 parish record of the marriage of Lancelot Todd and "Ffawsitt" in Hovingham, Yorkshire. Do you think the first name couldn't be transcribed from the 'original' or could there be another reason it was omitted? Any thoughts?

#AncestryHour We often talk about how to encourage the next generation to take an interest in family history. I'm proud to say that my daughter has taken a real interest & yesterday launched a website to share her research into her German Jewish ancestry. https://mymischlingfamily.com/2020/01/27/onkel-fritz/ … -
#AncestryHour This made my month - a distant cousin surprised me w/ 2 of my grandparents' wedding photos! One photo includes their attendants. I've never seen it before! I'm trying to track down their descendants to send them a copy. Such an amazing surprise!#Genealogy -
Good evening
#AncestryHour. My big news this week is that I've booked a 3-night family history trip to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire in May. Just me, so no-one to complain about spending too long in a churchyard!

Even though I *was* a professional genealogist, I prefer the term family historian. It speaks more about the depth of what we do which is much more than recording names, dates and places.
