    my psych told me that autistics often have a ‘disconnect’ between the emotions they have and actually experiencing those emotions. is not part of autism but because of this neurological disconnect it manifests easier in autistics. Thoughts?

    I wonder if I have Alexithymia because I can only recognise emotions at the extreme end of the spectrum (when I'm crying or laughing). In therapy I feel distressed when I can't say where in my body the emotion is. Can other people do this? Is that too?

    My therapist just reminded me of the existence of this Wheel of Emotions. I think I got it from the site 'The Mighty'. I think might benefit from this tool. I don't think it's an exhaustive or complete list of emotion, it's a good place to start.
