  12. Because Black girls are held to a different standard & not seen as children with developing brains or unique emotional needs, they're not allowed to make up stories or deceive. When embellishing or lying, they will inevitably be considered criminals and villains.

  13. I wonder if the times I was called "sassy" in elementary and middle school was because of - If I were a white boy (at the time), it would have been perceived as confidence and space would have been made for me to flex my bravado.
