Just got off the phone with RCMP in Strathcona County... the llama is still on the loose. They’ve gotten about 10 calls of llama spottings, but haven’t been able to catch it. Also, if you’re missing a llama they wan to hear from you!

One of my favourite sounds of winter is a group of chickadees chatting in leafless willows. Turns out I'm not the only ones listening to them...

Oh my gosh, friends, we were INVADED!!! Look at that GIANT ZOMBEAST out my front door!! He was after momma's zombie maple. I borked at him from the window. It was enough to scare him away.

Check out this absolutely gorgeous beauty we saw this morning on the walking path in Southridge,

If you see a bear on the roadside, consider not stopping. 'Habituated' bears that have lost their natural fear of humans almost inevitably become ‘problem’ bears. A fed bear is a dead bear.

The agility and seemingly effortless flight of Snowy Owls is amazing to watch. We have a lot around this winter and see several every day perching on posts or power poles. This female took off likely looking for some breakfast. https://tkranch.com/shop/

Overwintering of Canadian Geese presents a real challenge to their safety. Proud of folks like Barb DeGroot who come out here who voluntarily help Fish and Wildlife and Wild North Rescue protect our important migratory birds.
