@MNDoddie5 Hi there, do you have any info on the Wounded Lion 500, we have been told it will be traveling on the#A68. Do you have any info re times etc.? -
So I know everyone's got their eyes on Pine Island Glacier because a biggish calving is imminent, but keep some of your gaze on
#Iceberg#A68. It really is motoring. Now poking above 63 degrees S and about to break free of surrounding sea-ice.@sentinel_hub@CopernicusEUpic.twitter.com/wqWQpzJVgE

#A68, the monster berg that broke off Larsen C in 2017, has been chugging along of late. Now passing the Joinville Island Group at the top of the Antarctic Peninsula. pic.twitter.com/D10AGjXayh

Happy birthday mega Iceberg
#A68! 2 yrs old this week!#OTD 2017: 5800km2 - one of the largest recorded icebergs ever. Still largely intact, it has drifted north in the Weddell Sea, rotating 220° anti-clockwise, today pivoting on the Jason Peninsula, pic@NASA SUOMI NPP satellitepic.twitter.com/jGqzNfDWFK

Even though it stopped us reaching
#LarsenC &#A68, I miss the sea ice already! Every day was spectacular and the "brown" ice (full of microscopic plants and animals) is an important food source for the whole#Antarctic ecosystem!#BluePlanetLive@BBCEarth@BAS_News@AWI_Mediapic.twitter.com/nJGLukLBTK

Iceberg A68 has nearly closed off the area in front of Larsen C Ice Shelf where SPRI researchers on the Weddell Sea Expedition were working recently. Since 14 Jan, A68’s northern end moved ~82 km WNW: it now lies within only ~8.5 km of the ice shelf.

Whilst most of us have been cursing the sea ice for stopping us reaching
#LarsenC &#A68,@arndt_st & the sea ice scientists have been out most days working on the sea ice and collecting samples. The intrepid team uses helicopters to land on the floating ice!@AWI_Media@BAS_Newspic.twitter.com/SkAevZFxoR

Sea-ice conditions have prevented the Research Icebreaker Polarstern from reaching the Larsen Ice Shelf and the calving areas of iceberg

The sea ice may have prevented us reaching
#LarsenC &#A68 but the first animals have been collected by the benthic#biology team! Beautiful corals, sponges, crustaceans, feather stars and brittle stars! Very happy be working in an area never explored for seafloor biology before!pic.twitter.com/x12iUdZOVa

Heavy ice conditions prevented us to reach
#A68 and#LarsenC with#RVPolatstern. However, we were able to conduct an#EMbird sea-ice thickness flight towards#A68 - it was amazing to see that that giant iceberg from above!@AWI_depic.twitter.com/M2MkbAhr2v

If you want to understand just how difficult the sea-ice conditions are for the RV
#Polarstern look at these@BigOceanData maps. The ship's trying to reach the calving point of the#A68 monster iceberg, which is south of the Bawden Ice Rise. Ship tracks are for the past week
