    Almost 60 years ago, my mother had an illegal abortion. It was too harrowing for her to discuss, but she made sure I knew it had happened. In 2010, my wife had a legal abortion after we found out her pregnancy was not viable. We cannot and will not go back.

    I had an abortion when I was 42. When I was 13 weeks pregnant, my husband and I were devastated to learn the fetus had Down’s Syndrome. It was the hardest decision we’ve ever made, but it was ours alone to make.

    I had an abortion when I was 18 years old. I’m not sure if I’ve ever talked about it on here but I’m not ashamed so I’m sharing today because if then you know someone who has had an abortion.

    I was 19. Not in the right mental state to raise a child. Dealing with extreme depression and panic disorder. I am 6 months pregnant now. Now I can give my baby the best me, so she can be her best self. I had a choice. Every woman should have that choice.

    Here’s a fact. 1 in 4 women have had an abortion before the age of 45. Over 50 % of women having them ALREADY have children. Over half live below poverty level.

    My friend in college was gang raped. They broke her pelvis. And she got pregnant. Of course, she had an abortion. Imagine being pregnant with a broken pelvis.

    Without Roe V Wade I wouldn't exist. Thanks to this law my mom had safe access to abortion when she was in college. This allowed her to graduate, start her life, get married, and go on to have 2 kids when she was ready.
