    When we think of MDT work we often think of nurses supporting doctors.We often forget the huge amount of learning that doctors can gain from nurses. is one of life’s generous people who lifts others. Thanks Julie for my present & card & for everything

  13. Florence Small Gaynor, RN, BSN, MPH was the first black woman to head a major teaching hospital. She was a registered nurse and in 1971 was selected as the Executive Director for Sydenham Hospital out of 20 candidates - the rest of them men.

    Before becoming an abolitionist and women’s rights activist, Sojourner Truth served as a nurse for the family she served. Her powerful voice would later be instrumental in advocating for the need for nursing education.

    On we celebrate black nurses. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽 They changed nursing & history at the same time. Help us Brown, Scales, Staupers, Truth and Harvey among so many others who gave and served through the nursing profession.

  20. Estelle Massey Riddle Osborne, RN, MA was was born in 1901 in TX, and in 1931 became the first African American to earn a Master's in Nursing. She was the first black board member of ANA and worked to eliminate racial discrimination in nursing.
