    In the old palace of it was normal during intervals between parliaments for many of the fixtures to be carried off by officials as perks. Preparations for a new session meant a busy time installing new furniture & refurbishing tatty old fittings

    It's not just MPs who will be returning to work at Westminster next month, but staff as well. , over on the blog, Dr Kathryn Rix looked into the staff who kept the Palace of Westminster running back in the 19th century...

    Fitzrovia is such a great area - let’s try and keep it that way. Vote YES in the referendum on 2nd September at Fitzrovia Centre for the Neighbourhood Plan. Protect our existing buildings and have an influence on new developments.
