#OTD in 1943, Benito Mussolini, fascist dictator of Italy, was voted out of power by his own Grand Council and arrested upon leaving a meeting with King Vittorio Emanuele, who told Il Duce that the war is lost. Mussolini responded to it all with an uncharacteristic meekness#WWII pic.twitter.com/WK0m5wDEZb

An example of
#WWII#Propoganda that has not aged well. Clearly the sentiment is to pay mind to every miniscule detail in one's job to support the war effort. Alas. 'Tis the meaning it was no longer.pic.twitter.com/sc8lEL9ATs

Polish authorities confirmed that Russia is not invited to the events dedicated to the start of
#WWII. Germany is invited. The decision said to be based on "current realities". Attempts to vilify Soviet victors over Nazism to follow. Comes as no surprise if one recalls 1934-39
