    This flooding illustrates the importance of the $225 million I secured for sewer overflow control in this year's bill. Those funds will help communities construct separate rain water and sewage water systems, so people can keep using their water even during bad rainstorms.

    I'm continuing to monitor the devastating flooding around Frederick and the Eastern Shore, and encourage residents to stay off the roads unless strictly necessary. Marylanders everywhere should listen closely to their local alert systems and follow for updates.
