    village on island, is a peaceful oasis. All your senses will be touched when you pay Vathy a visit. When driving down towards the oasis of trees and water, the smell from the mountain herbs will be dancing in the air. IG 📷 iamgreece

    The seafront of was flooded yesterday after the , causing damage to property, shops, cafes and vehicles. Several houses collapsed. Families were accommodated in the football stadium. In the camp, there have been no reports of damage or injuries.

    Very sad news from camp in . Yet again we see that the aegean island camps are not safe or humane for human beings.

    This morning at 4am a fire broke out in camp, . MSF deployed a team to support with the needs on the ground. The fire is now out & there have been no injuries reported. It is clear: Vathy camp is not a safe place - people must be evacuated to safe accommodation now.

    Yesterday, I got a devastating email from a very close friend, Stella Kunzendorf, who is a volunteering doctor in a on Island. Her story was published in the German paper . She asked me to help spread the news about what's been happening there.

    The at , Samos, Greece, is confirmed as out. Three containers on the level of unaccompanied minors have been damaged. No reports of serious injuries, only minor burns.

    Another fire broke out in the Vathy RIC tonight. The fire brigade responded immediately; the fire is nearly put out. We'll keep you updated.

    Fire in the camp , in the area where the unaccompanied minors live. Probably injured 2 people, the others at the police station. So far there have been 21 corona cases in the warehouse.

    Feuer im Lager auf , in dem Bereich, wo die unbegleiteten Minderjährigen wohnen. Wohl 2 Menschen verletzt, die anderen bei der Polizei. Im Lager gibt es bis jetzt 21 Corona-Fälle.

    Today started a 5-day tetanus campaign for the thousands of people contained in rat-infested camp on Samos, stuck in dire conditions. A disgrace to humanity. Today 690 men, women & children were vaccinated. Tomorrow these people need to be evacuated.
