  6. Like many Americans, I am disappointed that the Senate Republicans voted to hide the truth by not calling witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial. I hope local and national GOP leaders, including our own Governor, condemn this unfair process.

    The House has started its roll-call vote in hopes to override 's paid family leave veto. The last time the House successfully beat a veto was in 2009, when lawmakers overrode Gov. Jim Douglas on a budget and same-sex marriage.

  9. A Burlington worker earning minimum wage would have to work 86 hrs a week to afford a one-bedroom apartment. Families can't work and raise children here if they can't access affordable housing. When I'm governor, we are going build more housing.

    This is bad news for the (and Vermonters who want paid leave insurance). And most folks thought paid leave had a better chance than minimum wage.

    The House Ways and Means committee just voted out the legislation to legalize cannabis sales w/ a 20% combined tax rate. This is major movement for the cannabis bill, which stalled in this committee last year.

    As a small state with a big image nationwide, Vermont needs to support a diverse agriculture sector for two big reasons: farming’s economic impact, and- once again- it’s powerful appeal in terms of Vermont’s image and reputation.
