#UnityTip When you select an object in the Unity editor, it likes to pick the topmost object in the hierarchy, which isnt always what you want
Did you know you can use the [SelectionBase] attribute to give the editor a hint as to which object it should actually be picking?

#UnityTip If you are annoyed by clicking the UI by mistake when selecting objects in your scene you can disable the UI layer for the sceneview in the "Layers" dropdown.#gamedev#indiedevpic.twitter.com/TBiMBlf5a6

#unitytip If you have a texture with alpha make sure to check "Mip Preserve Coverage" and play with the cutoff value. Otherwise it may happen that the alpha becomes more present in higher mip maps which leads e.g. to less leaf coverage in trees. pic.twitter.com/BRh8C7V52X

#unitytip Consider using the TryGetComponent method instead of GetComponent. It can save u from typing an extra line - very important!!
I only discovered it somewhat recently and nothing shows up when I google it, so I figured it may be new to some of ya pic.twitter.com/pGKjXSeliM

You can switch draw modes in
#Unity3D scene view to not only check meshes, UVs, but see lighting contributors, overdraw! (aka too much transparency) and many more. Very useful to find quickly perf bottlenecks. Not all work with URP sadly though!#Unitytip#GameDev#IndieDevpic.twitter.com/bsKrYaeog6 -
#UnityTip If you need to check if a GameObject is active, mind the difference between activeSelf and activeInHierarchy. You might get unexpected results. More Details in the image.#gamedev#indiedevpic.twitter.com/IaTvsGL4w4

When importing a photoscanned mesh into
#unity3d, I always bake one Object-Space Normal Map to use on all LODs. It amazes me to see how close they look, even when one has less than 2% of the original triangles.#indiegame#gamedev#indiedev#quixel#unitytip#videogame#gamedevpic.twitter.com/ZpOo3fOxzB

Hey folks! I know this
#UnityTips is not ground breaker but I still find some developers using the old Unity Text instead of the Text Mesh Pro. Text Mesh Pro (Right) runs as fast as the Unity Text (Left) and the quality is better as well as you can see above.#UnityTip#IndieDevpic.twitter.com/jsrydORF7e
