    Got off the phone with my ex and cried tonight and just cried. The University of Chicago police shot his roommate yesterday, while he was having a mental health crisis. I asked my what I could do to be helpful and he said “just tweet it out. Make sure people know.”

    The University of Chicago Police force (UCPD) has full police powers, patrols far off campus and is the primary police force for 65k people (mostly non-university affiliated), but isn’t subject to FOIA and doesn’t make its internal policies public.
