    "Curbing the power of corporations and those who own them — so we can have a future — should be our top priority. At the very least, it should be an election issue." is one simple way to rein in this runaway corporate power.

    We can have a world that is livable for humans or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few--but we can't have both. That's the real choice on the ballot Sept. 20. The rest is just talkity-talk.

    Let's not forget that in just one year of the pandemic, the top 47 Canadian billionaires increased their wealth by $78 billion and now own $270 billion. This while millions of Canadians lost jobs/hours and took pay cuts at the pandemic's peak.

    The idea of not taxing the church started when the clergy took a vow of poverty and church's were poor. Those days are over and places of worship are big business with huge profits and should be taxed as such.

    This month, a Globe investigation found the Catholic Church in Canada had collected a combined $886-million in donations in 2019, making it the largest charity in Canada, and had $4.1-billion in net assets.

    No matter what issue you think needs to be resolved (healthcare, clean water, poverty, teacher pay, infrastructure, even a god damn border wall) remember that there are people with enough money to pay $600k+ for something I could make in excel in 10 mins…
