  6. Happy belated birthday to Sydney Dixon who was born 100 years ago last week on 9 Jan. In 1941, Sydney enlisted in the & served in Aus & New Guinea. He was a cook & enjoyed serving his country & cooking for all the general officers & privates.

  7. Last week, Mary Collins (nee Ladlay) turned 100 years old. She was born in Rockhampton on 7 January 1921. In 1944, Mary enlisted with the & served for two years. She was a corporal at Station HQ Richmond at discharge. Happy belated birthday Mary.

  8. Congratulations to Richard Browne who turns 100 today. Richard enlisted in the with his late twin brother Donald, in 1941 & both served with the 2/8th Australian Infantry Battalion. Richard credits his longevity to having a good sense of humour

  12. Last week Desmond Fuss turned 100. Desmond enlisted the in 1941 & served with the 27th Australian Infantry Battalion. He was stationed in Darwin & Townsville & was involved in the Battle of Darwin in Feb 1942. Happy belated birthday Desmond.

  15. Congratulations to John Jones who turns 100 today. John joined the in August 1940. He became a flight lieutenant and trained in Canada. He was attached to RAF Bomber Command and flew with 102 Squadron and 78 Squadron and was awarded a DFC.
