Our CEO
@humanhacker wrote about how we will be supporting@CoalfireSys and their pentesters.#StandWithCoalfire https://www.social-engineer.com/we-are-supporting-coalfire/ … -
I have half a mind to live tweet a physical pentest in support and to bring awareness to
#StandWithCoalfire . Got one coming up. Wonder if the client will let me. Haven't done a live pentest in a while. -
Since the authorities and media love to splash the mugshots of the consultants everywhere they can, here's the Sheriff (Chad Leonard) and the County Attorney (Chuck Sinnard) who are responsible for this ridiculous abuse of power.

I believe it is of utmost critical importance to each and every one of us, now more than ever, that we stand together as a singular community to support the
@CoalfireSys case and defend our work. This is an opportunity to educate the world...let's not waste it.#StandwithCoalfire -
This is an outrageous situation. These pen testers should have been released the second they pulled their get out of jail free card. Follow the hashtag
#StandwithCoalfire to watch what is happening. Hopefully the admins with the judicial system in Iowa get this straightened out https://twitter.com/TinkerSec/status/1189640830186905607 … -
Update: Court date set (Jury Trail) for the Coalfire PenTesters.

If you haven't yet read this statement from Coalfire CEO Tom McAndrew, you need to. This case comes down to a Sheriff who didn't like that the effectiveness of his deputies were being tested by the state. It's a shameful abuse of power and lack of common sense.

We've got a hashtag now.
#StandWithCoalfire If you want the latest on this story, fo llow@annaspoerre, she's the local news reporter on the ground who has been covering the two pentesters arrested & charged in Dallas County, Iowa. Next big date is the Nov 6th initial hearing. -
We all feel for the two pentesters who were jailed for simply doing their job. You've probably seen their mugshots. Now see the person who put them behind bars - Sheriff Chad Leonard. We deserve to see his face as much as the two charged.

In case you needed a reminder. Dallas County Iowa is still pushing charges against the two Coalfire consultants. Support
#StandWithCoalfire, let the world hear it that#infosec will not be pawns in these political games.https://twitter.com/AlyssaM_InfoSec/status/1189589403909443585 … -
Jesus. Iowa what the hell are you doing.

Much respect and appreciation to
@TrustedSec for doing this. This is a great example of how strong the InfoSec/CyberSec community really is.#StandwithCoalfire -
Dallas County IA needs to figure out the difference between real burglars and an authorized pen test. Hint: they're helping you. Well, at least they were before Sheriffs overracted, arrested, and charged them. Ridiculous.

i <3 happy endings... Dallas County attorney agrees to drop charges against men contracted by judicial branch to test courthouse security https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/crime-and-courts/2020/01/30/courthouse-break-ins-charges-dropped-against-coalfire-employees/4611574002/ … via

This is important! So glad in the long run the county attorney got this right. Also good on
@CoalfireSys for keeping a positive message even though they'd be well within their rights to blast this Sherriff for creating this situation.#StandWithCoalfire https://www.coalfire.com/News-and-Events/Press-Releases/Charges-Dismissed-Against-Coalfire-Employees … -
Great article by

Iowa paid a security firm to break into a courthouse, then arrested employees when they succeeded https://cnb.cx/371he7K "...there can be a big overreaction that someone has gone out there and demonstrated impact"
